    About Trip

    Upper Mustang is located in Annapurna region in western Nepal, it  was restricted area until 1992 that’s why it is one of the most preserved region in the world with Tibetan culture, Tibetan dialect in language, history, tradition. The major castes of Mustang are Gurung, Thakali, Lama, Bista etc. Upper Mustang is famous for kingdom of Mustang.

     Tourists need to obtain a special permit to enter Upper Mustang.It is rich in Buddhist culture. Kali Gandaki river flows from the Upper Mustang which provides fossils which is called in Nepali ‘Saligram’ normally it takes 11 days to complete Upper Mustang trek. It has stunning views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche etc. The trail leads via Jomsom, Kagbeni, Chhuksang , Tsarang and final destination is Lo Manthang.

    Arrival at Tribhuvan international airport in Kathmandu 1345 m./4371.25 ft and transfer to the hotel in Thamel.

    You will be picked up by a representative of Trekking Explore Nepal, who drops you in hotel in Thamel. After getting hotel, whether you may stay or relax at hotel or walk around the Thamel.
