    About Trip

So close to Kathmandu, they call it the Little Switzerland of Nepal

The Langtang Valley is Nepal’s third most popular trekking destination, but sees only a fraction of the visitors that the Everest and Annapurna regions see. Yet, this incredible valley is breathtaking to behold, and so close to Kathmandu.

The starting point of the trek is just a day’s journey from Kathmandu, and you immediately begin trekking in the mountains. The Langtang region features incredible scenery which includes an amazing valley all in the shadow of the Langtang Mountain Range.

While none of the Langtang Mountains are much above 7200 meters, these snowcapped peaks are delightful to gaze upon. The trek is considered easy to moderate and there are nice places to spend each night along the way.

The Langtang Valley Trek is a wonderful way to experience the incredible Himalayas. The trek is relatively easy and so close to Kathmandu. So why not include the Langtang Valley Trek on your agenda for your visit to the Himalayas? Trekking Explore Nepal has excellent guides who are very familiar with the nuances of the Langtang region. They can put together the finest trek into this region for your enjoyment.

    SIGHTSEEING IN KATHMANDU VALLEY

The Kathmandu Valley is an amazing place to see. The day begins with a journey to Chandragiri Cable Car in the Kathmandu Valley, where you will get your first view of the Langtang Mountains as well as the other mountain ranges in the country.

The Chandragiri Cable Car is a wonderful experience. It will be followed by a stop at Swayambhu which is also known as Monkey Temple. This ancient Buddhist religious site dates back over 2000 years and is situated on a high hill overlooking the Valley. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From here, you will travel to Kathmandu’s Durbar Square where the kings of old were crowned. Here there is not only a royal palace, but nearly 60 amazing temples. There is even the home of The Living Goddess. Known as the Kumari, this young girl is said to be the embodiment of a goddess. Kathmandu’s Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening, return to your hotel to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s journey to the entrance of Langtang National Park.
