Easy to Moderate Ride of 30 – 40 km
Are you a beginner at mountain biking? Or want to enjoy an easy ride that will take you into some truly amazing places off the beaten path? If so, then the Tokha and Budhanilkantha Ride is ideal for you.
Budhanilkantha features a very ancient temple with a five meter long idol of the reclining Vishnu. He’s lying on the water representing the cosmic sea. The ride takes you to the edge of Shivapuri National Park as you ride past paddy fields of rice. Moderate ride of around 40 – 50 km
The Ride to Bungamati heads to the southern side of the Kathmandu Valley. It’s a long ride through a part of the Valley that is not seen by most visitors. Here there are some very old and traditional Newari villages with architecture that dates back centuries. The highlight of the trip is the unique Rato Macchindranath Temple which has a mystical quality. The ride will pass through lush forests through the village of Champi and then to the historic village of Chapagaon, home of the famojs Bajra Varahi Temple. The ride returns through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Patan. This city is known as the City of Art with its unique carvings in both wood and stone. Finally, return to Thamel.
